Zynga appears to be getting in on the “endless runner” genre with its newest iOS game, Running With Friends.

The game was discovered by The Next Web on the Canadian App Store, which is often a test market for games before they receive a wider release. Sometime between when the story went live yesterday and this morning, however, the app seems to have been yanked from the store.

Based on the screenshots used on the App Store page, Running With Friends looks like many other endless runners, a genre that became immensely popular following the success of Imangi Studios’ Temple Run. In Running With Friends, players control a character participating in the Running of the Bulls in Pamplona, Spain. Since this is a Zynga game, the app includes social features where players can challenge their friends’ scores.

The timing of the game’s release might work against Zynga, however, since Imangi launched Temple Run 2 last week and that game will likely overshadow any competitors in the near future.

We reached out to Zynga for a comment about Running With Friends but were told the company had no comment at this time.
