235 million people play Facebook games — While speaking at TechCrunch Disrupt this week, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg said 235 million people are playing games on the social network every month. Zuckerberg was talking about what makes him excited about the Facebook platform, as well as other companies that have become power players in the social games scene recently.

Wooga updating Diamond Dash for iPhone 5 — Following Apple’s big iPhone 5 reveal this week, wooga announced it was going to have an optimized version of Diamond Dash for iOS set to launch alongside the new iPhone. The update will include adaptations for the 4-inch screen and integrating iOS 6′s Facebook features.

Social casino games expected to make $2.4 billion by 2015 — Even though many social game developers are facing shrinking revenues, one section of the industry is still growing by leaps and bounds. Digital Trends says that SuperData has just released a new report on “Social Casino Metrics” predicting social casino games will generate $1.6 billion by the end of 2012. By 2015, the number will be up to $2.4 billion.

EA’s Facebook page defaced — Electronic Arts found its Facebook page under siege, being overrun with hentai (pornographic anime) images and photos of Valve Software’s Gabe newell. The pages have since been cleaned up and reports attributed the trolling to internet group 4Chan, but this hasn’t been confirmed.

Requiem: Memento Mori appears on Facebook [Launch] — Gravity Interactive brought its dark-fantasy MMO Requiem: Memento Mori over to Facebook this week. The Facebook version features its own world server and includes several social tools to enable milestone sharing.

Gamemaker: Studio gets big update — YoYo games announced this week its 1.1 update for GameMaker: Studio, its cross-platform game development program. The update makes it easier for developer to include and utilize business services like AdColony, AdMob, Facebook, Google Play Licensing, iAds, MoPub, PocketChange and SupersonicAds.

Woodland Heroes gets clone treatment — Row Sham Bow’s Woodland Heroes has been cloned over in China, complete with identical artwork. Kotaku quotes a part of the original game’s dev team as saying they’re upset, but “we really have no leg to stand on to pursue them.”
