Zynga and Phosphor Games have released the action-adventure title Horn on iOS, the first game to be launched under the Zynga Partners for Mobile program.

Horn is developed by Phosphor Games, the studio responsible for the critically-hailed mobile title The Dark Meadow. While The Dark Meadow was a first-person survival horror game, but Horn is a third-person action adventure with a distinct fantasy feel. Players control a boy named Horn who awakens to find his village overrun by monsters, only to discover the creatures are his former neighbors transformed by a curse. As a result, it’s up to him to reverse the curse and save his friends.

We got to see the game when it was announced at Zynga Unleashed, and Google featured it on the Nexus 7 at the Google I/O conference. Gameplay featured a mix of platforming, combat and puzzle solving. Phosphor Games CEO Justin Corcoran told us at the time that the company partnered with Zynga because of the latter’s PR and marketing experience and the millions of mobile players it has access to. Corcoran didn’t go into financial details about the publishing deal, but he did say Zynga provided “a new model of partnership” that was different from any other partner program the developer has been a part of.

Horn’s available for iOS devices right now for $6.99, and it’s coming soon to Nvidia Tegra-powered Android devices.
