COO John Schappert leaves Zynga
John Schappert has left his post as COO of Zynga and is also no longer on the company’s board of directors.
Zynga released an SEC document this afternoon about Schappert’s departure and CEO and Founder Mark Pincus put out a statement saying, “John has made significant contributions to the games industry throughout his career and we appreciate all that he has done for Zynga. John leaves as a friend of the company and we wish him all the best.”
Schappert joined Zynga in April 2011 after serving as Electronic Arts’s COO. This departure follows last week’s revelation that Schappert lost game oversight duties following a “reshuffling” at the company, with David Ko and Steve Chiang reporting directly to Pincus.
