Game Insight gets into mobile publishing, $3M to spend this summer

Game Insight today launched a publishing site where developers can directly submit their mobile titles for consideration. The Russian developer has established a $3 million fund to spend on publishing for this summer alone.

Developers visiting the site click on the submission link, triggering a pop-up form for them to fill out with contact information and details about their game; there’s also an option to include extra documents tied to a game. Once the form is submitted, Game Insight will review the application and follow up with the developer.

The company aims to work with independent developers who want to localize and publish their games in multiple territories, particularly North America, Russia and Asia. Director of Publishing for Game Insight Russia Artem Bocharov tells us that each publishing contract will be unique, so there’s no predetermined dollar amount that it’s willing to commit to a new title. The publisher is willing to consider any genre of game for publishing.

Bocharov also says that partnered developers will be free to focus on their titles while Game Insight focuses on the standard suite of publisher services — advertising, marketing, analytics, testing, etc. While he wasn’t willing to disclose the revenue share split, Bocharov did say it’s competitive with the open market. As for porting titles to new platforms, that’s something Game Insight would consider after a game is published initially on the platform for which it’s designed.

Game Insight has a some solid mobile hits under its belt, including Mystery Manor: Hidden Adventure, Paradise Island and My Country on both Android and iOS. Mystery Manor’s been particularly successful for the company; after launching on Facebook in March 2011, the game still has 160,000 daily active users while the iPad version repeatedly hit the No. 2 spot on the list of top grossing iPad Apps over the past month. Meanwhile, the Android version of Mystery Manor just launched this week with all the content of the iPad version and is set to receive new, fresh content in the future. Around this time last year, Game Insight told Inside Mobile Apps that it was netting $1 million in revenue from the then-Android-only Paradise Island.
