Candy Crush Saga hits sweet spot on this week’s list of fastest-growing Facebook games by DAU
King.com’s latest “Saga” game Candy Crush Saga is already rocketing up the charts, taking the No.1 spot on our list of fastet-growing Facebook games by daily active users thanks to the 710,000 DAU it gained over the past week.
Peak Games’s Arabic language city sim مدينة الأهرامات (“City of the Pyramids”) continues to grow, taking the No. 2 spot with 210,000 DAU, a 75 percent gain. Playdom’s Marvel: Avengers Alliance is up by 17 percent, with a 130,000 DAU gain. The game is undoubtedly aided by the increasing marketing for “The Avengers,” which hits theaters in early May. Marvel Avengers Alliance’s real test will come after the film is out of theaters, which is when the game will have to survive on Facebook without a multi-million dollar marketing campaign helping keep its IP in the public eye.
Five other games on the list have gains over 50 percent. Redspell’s Astro Garden shows another boost under 6waves’s publishing banner, this week up by 100,000 DAU for a 56 percent gain. Kingnet’s Chinese language tower defense game 神馬三國 (“God Masan Guo”) is up by 40,000 DAU for a 50 percent increase. iEvoGames’s Gold Slots – New Slot Machines is another beneficiary of 6waves’s publishing power, jumping by 30,000 DAU for a 300 percent gain. Helicopter, a clone of a popular Flash game, is up by 20,000 DAU for a 200 percent increase.
