CrowdStar Becomes Second-Largest by MAU on This Week’s List of Fastest-Growing Facebook Games
CrowdStar is on a tear. A little over a week after releasing its new games It Girl and Pop Boom, the developer has managed to put no less than four games on our AppData list of fastest-growing Facebook titles by monthly active users.

The new MAUs streaming into CrowdStar aren’t limited to these four games. Its quiz app Quiz Planet is also growing quickly, while other apps have made small gains. In all, CrowdStar has made a nine-day gain of almost 10 million MAU:

CrowdStar’s victory is not complete; although it now leads Electronic Arts by about three million MAU, CrowdStar trails EA’s DAU by about the same amount — a far more significant gap, since DAUs indicate more monetization opportunities.
Still, it’s likely that CrowdStar’s push has just begun. It Girl and Pop Boom are the first games that the company has released in four months, and both are significantly more innovative than most of what we’ve seen from the company before (you can also check our our It Girl review and Pop Boom review). We’d bet on a continued push from CrowdStar through this week.
Beyond CrowdStar, both Millionaire City and City of Wonder represented the city-building genre within the top 10 entries on the list. The latter shot up to become Facebook’s largest game in the genre, but Millionaire City still holds an almost 2-to-1 margin in terms of DAU.
Zynga is well-represented, although its games are so huge as to have not made significant gains in percentage terms. Finally, MindJolt Games appears to have finally halted its long decline from over 20 million MAU, bouncing slightly at its current 13.8 million MAU.
