Your comparison to Apple/Microsoft is interesting, but seems a little off.

Apple was clear from the onset that they would take 30%.  Developers who came to their platform built their business model upon that knowledge.

Facebook went a completely different route.  They provided an open platform for free and benefited from the thousands of developers that flocked to their platform.  Without us, there is no way they would be at 500MM users.  

Now they are turning their back on us to grab as much money as possible.  Very shrewd and in character.

This is a classic bait and switch.</description>
