Just one week after Christmas made a strong showing on our weekly list of the 20 Facebook games with the most new daily active users, all six holiday titles have fallen off, according to numbers provided by AppData.

It’s a week of surprises everywhere though, as even the mighty PetVille lost out to the one-year-old Pillow Fight. Pillow Fights declares a winner within two days if a pillow smack is not returned on the hitter’s wall, a possible contributing factor to the simple game’s sudden 74 percent rise this week. Other factors include holiday pillows and a new method to mass hit your friends list.

PetVille has the second-largest DAU of any game on the list, 3.83 million and counting. The game received 306,000 more DAU this week, which is about 13,000 more then last week.

MindJolt Games was missing from the top 20 last week, but now makes a big splash now with 171,000 new players. MindJolt is more of a portal then a game as the developer, MindJolt, advertises it to have 500 different games to play.

Tarjetitas returns to the top 20 as well. The game is the highest ranking foreign language game this week. The Spanish-language card-giving app is based off the Gift Card making application and is a hit with 261,000 daily users and coming in fourth on the list. We should note that this isn’t really a game, except for the fact that its developer has chosen to categorize it as one in Facebook’s application directory.

Last week, the farming app of choice was (Lil) Farm Life while this week it appears to be Country Life at fifth place. Country Life has about the same DAU as (Lil) after this week. raising 98,600 DAU and finishing at 1.51 million DAU.

Meanwhile, 開心水族箱 (Google translated – “Aquatic box open mind”) is a game of using the fish you raise to find treasure. It ranks seventh with 71,000 new DAU.

開心農場 is basically a Chinese-language farming game. The app was released in August and is making its first appearance on the list at 16th and a DAU of 2.66 million. Last week also saw 點歌零距離 (“Zero Distance Song”) and this week on top 20 gaining DAU Facebook apps, Chinese RPG, 快打之王, Google translated to “King of Kombat” made an appearance at 16th, but is conspicuously absent on the gaming list, because the developer has not designated it as a game in Facebook’s app directory.

Finally, the game with the highest DAU this week was Texas HoldEm Poker with 4.9 million and the app with the highest increase in accordance with its size was Pillow Fight with 74 percent.

Next week could see some final returns from holiday apps and a continuing trend for foreign language apps, of which there were a total of four this week.
