Facebook has made a great impact on the users especially with their almost endless applications. The way a lot is being affected by their maintenance & current changes, they better start innovating how to expand & give better service to millions of users.

[...] Changes are coming to Facebook which may change the way social gamers are notified of activities in and around games such as Mafia Wars, Farmville and Pet Society. The social network’s messaging system will be used for communication between users (invitations to games, gifts, etc) while email will be used for interactions between application developers and users.
Haha! When I posted this, *you* popped a feed story! I wonder if that kind of connect feed-popping is also prohibited. Presumably!

> - Feed forms cannot be popped open without “explicit user intent”
> (note: this is a new Facebook policy)
>
> On that last point, many quiz apps relied on the feed form to open,
> shall we say, without explicit user intent. We expect many of these apps
> to rapidly decline in usage, once this change rolls out.

I think you're under-estimating the importance of this. It's not just quiz apps that pop feed stories -- nearly all of the fast-growing games pop a lot of feed stories in every session (the aquarium games pop 8-9 in your first game). This policy change is going to have a huge impact on virality.

To be honest, like getting rid of the '3 image' feed stories, I think this is a good thing for the FB user experience and it's prospects as a long-term gaming platform, but it's going to hurt a lot of currently successful developers.

This is interesting about not allowing the number of members be rewarded. This may not be as big a deal as it sounds - depending on how loosely or tightly this enforced. Having more friends will mean you always have more opportunities to assist with jobs and receive and give gifts. Unless they get rid of the 10 members responded allowance. For fighting games, make everyone 501 by default and just say you can only use the top 501 items in each category. Now the other stuff of buying property and equipment for every 2 members you have, that is probably history.
