SimCity for iPhone – Cheats, Tips, & Tricks
Seeing as it is a cult classic – and now part of the iPhone platform – it seemed only fitting to do a post around the recently released SimCity for iPhone. The game is virtually identical to the original, with the only major change being to the control scheme due to the obvious lack of a mouse.
That said, the game was always tough at first. Heck, even when you did get the hang of everything, you didn’t always feel like dealing with the management of a large city and all the costs that come with it. So what did most people do in this case? Why they used cheat codes of course. But the big question now is, do they still work?
Well good news to all of you SimCity fans, they do, in fact, still work. Well… some of them anyway. It’s a nifty little Easter egg in order to find them, but all you have to do is shake the iPhone and a prompt will appear saying “Enter Cheat Code.” Yup, who’d have thought that was the trick?
As it stands, there are two known cheats for the game that still work. The code, “i am weak” will allow you to build anything your heart desires with no cost, and if you enter the code, “pay tribute to your king” you will be given all of the reward buildings without having to earn them.
Some people might recognize these codes, as they were part of the early PC version of the game. Sadly, many of the other old school codes do not work anymore, including “llama,” “call cousin vinnie,” and “porntipsguzzardo.” Regardless, it is nice to have these codes at all since it is far more fun to cheat anyways.
Whether or not there are more cheats still out there is unknown, but if you discover any new ones, then by all means post your findings.

The garbage in garbage out cheat doesn’t work for me. The app says it will give you the incinerator, recycling plant, etc. But I only receive the incinerator…
my residential taxes are at 2% and the people want lower taxes!

if you use the cheat “i am weak” then keep your taxes at arround 10%. they might complain but there will be higher land values and more sims there. you dont want your city to turn into a slum.
what is the highest population that you can obtain. and what are the final gifts??? i have heaps of money now,,,but no space to build..
anyone know where i find thee stadium??? ive looked all over and my game doesnt seem to have it. so i cant get my city above 160,000. help would b great

To get the stadium, goto the petition list. Select the stadium request and click enable on the bottom right…
I’ve put the cheats in for free stuff but my city keeps on losing money each year, how do you earn more money ??
For stadium go to your advisors screen then go to petitions scan them it should be there
I agree with Reece above.. how do you make more money! I’m running at a loss.. hang on.. maybe I should run the US economy? I’m now qualified arnt I?!
Let’s make a deal-on the ticker it will show you a few offers tap accept then go th special buildings and bulid those buildings. As long as they have power and water they will pay you a certain amount of money a month.

how about the Desalinization Plant? I’ve tried everything to get it to give me any water… whats the trick there?
Desalinisation plant needs to be by the sea squares. Doesn’t work by rivers or pools , and the water pump doesnt work by the sea
Okay to everyone loosing money.. You obviously don’t know how to run a town. Check the ordinaces- get the ones that give you money and take away the ones that you loose money with. Unless they’re extremely important. Also lower the budgets- fire and police can stay steady at 90 percent(sometimes lower) keep things low until you gain more people then as you make more money rasie things slowly.
Sometimes petitioners will offer you building and pay you for it! Take it. Keep the gambling ordiance :) its a good ammount of money.

to run a good city, do the following:
1) enact ordinances that GIVE you money
2) keep budgets at 100% unless required
3) make sure your end of monthe income is more than your end of month expense ( you can lower the expenses by removing “heavy” ordinances and lowering department funding, you can increase income by enacting “parking fines” and “legalized gambling” ordinances.
4) keep commercial tax at 6% , residential at 13-15% and industrial at 11-14%
