MobTies is better than most Mob games simply because the other games makes everyone in your family equals.

In Mafia Wars, a player that installed the game 5 days ago but doesn't play is worth as much to you as someone who plays diligently for the past 8 months. More than once, players mistakenly believed a high level player is worth more to them than a low level player when that is not the case at all.

MobTies is different. An active player in your family makes you stronger. Thus, active players are more valuable in MobTies.

Another strong point of the game is the two modes of play: Peace Mode and War Mode. This article focuses mostly on war mode. Peace mode makes it easy for the casual player to gain in rank.

In Mafia Wars, players can chain attack you all day long. If you are on vacation, don't be surprised if you were used as a piggy bank. You don't have to worry about this in MobTies as long as you are in peace mode.

Mobties allows for more balance game play in war mode. Other mob games allow for imbalances in battles.

In Mafia Wars, players 10x your level can chain attack you all day long, ever day of the week, every week of the year. In Mob Ties, all players are divided into "attack brackets" so you don't have to worry about the #1 player in the game bottom feeding on newbies.

Mobties is much better than Mob Wars, IMO. Mobties requires thought, skill and strategy and becomes increasingly more difficult as one gains power. Once one figures out Mob Wars, it becomes only the clicking of buttons.

Mobties will likely never be as popular as Mob Wars though because it is not a game that one can play for random random amounts of time at irregular intervals.
